YORKTOWN — Directors of the Yorktown Grange Fair are seeking memorabilia and photos from past Grange Fairs to compile an historical exhibit of the event’s 89-year history. Members of the public who have old photos or mementos from the fair can either donate them outright or loan them to the exhibit to be returned after this year’s fair.
The fair, which will celebrate it’s 89th year Sept. 5 to Sept. 8, is not only the oldest annual country fair celebrating its agricultural roots in Westchester County, it is the only one still in existence.
The idea to create and display an historical exhibit of the fair was discussed following the donation of a 3rd Place ribbon from the 1953 fair.
If you have any old Grange Fair photos or memorabilia you would like to donate or loan to the fair for the exhibit, please e-mail firstname.lastname@example.org or call 914-962-3900. For more information about the Grange Fair, go to www.yorktowngrangefair.org
