A Hudson Valley estate-turned- restaurant opens today after a year-and-a-half of renovations and planning.
Haymount House at 25 Studio Hill Road in Briarcliff Manor has officially launched its new restaurant called Hudson.
Scott Riesenberger is the executive chef and says that diners can expect farm-to-table dining and a seasonally inspired menu featuring fresh local ingredients.
Riesenberger has worked with a selection of famed food celebrities during his career. These include David Bouley, Rocco Dispirito, Alain Ducasse, and Mark Veyrat. And he was the executive sous chef for the opening of Gilt (2005-2006) and executive chef at Cru Restaurant ( 2007-2009).
Hudson is open for dinner Tuesdays through Sundays and will hold private events and of course weddings. And there will be a festive Easter dinner this Sunday.
Haymount House is a Southern colonial-style mansion situated on 4 hilltop acres, just off Chappaqua Road and Route 9A. The property, which boasts of a gorgeous view of the Hudson River, was custom-built in 1910 by one of the leading financiers of that era, William Fuller. In its recent past it has been another restaurant Maison Lafitte.
UPDATE: As a reader notes, Haymont House is within the Town of Ossining. It does have a Briarcliff Manor address.
