On Thursday, March 15, the Yorktown Historical Society will offer “The Five Historical Railroads of Ulster County,” a follow on to talks that we have had on the local “Old Put” Railroad.
The program will be presented by Historian Steve Ladin and author Glendon Moffett who has several books on historical means of transportation. The history of railroads gives us a view of the growth of our nation and our region. Five railroads passed through Ulster County with Kingston as the main hub.
The free event begins at 7:30 p.m. For more information, call Yorktown’s John C. Hart Memorial Library at 914-245-5262. The library is at 1130 E. Main St. in Shrub Oak.
