CHAPPAQUA CROSSING SIGNS LEASE FOR WESTCHESTER’S FIRST INDOOR SENSORY PLAYSPACE FOR CHILDREN AND NEW HEADQUARTERS FOR ACCESS NURSING SERVICES
CHAPPAQUA, NY (January 18, 2012) – Chappaqua Crossing announced today that it has signed a long-term lease for 24,000 square feet of space with WeeZee….World of Yes I Can, which will create Westchester’s first indoor sensory playspace for children and the largest facility of its kind on the East Coast. The corporate headquarters for ACCESS Nursing Services, the company’s temporary healthcare personnel service, will also be located at Chappaqua Crossing. Occupancy is expected in March at Building 400 of the 480 Bedford Road office campus.
WeeZee, which is the family nickname of company founder, Louise Weadock, will utilize 15,000 square feet for its programs for children between the ages of 1 and 12. The facility will offer a colorful and vibrant ambiance designed to appeal to a child’s sense of motion, hearing, space, taste, sight and smell. The safe and supervised therapeutic environment will include equipment designed to improve academic performance, athletic coordination and social relationships in children and will include a rainforest room, a music room, a colorful cocoon-like swing and other sensory enhancement features.
WeeZee, which will be open seven days a week from 8 am to 9 pm, will also feature special programs specifically developed for children who have a diagnosed learning disability. The facility will also include 15 offices that will be rented to therapists, doctors, teachers and educators.
It is anticipated that more than 100 full and part-time jobs will be created in a variety of fields. Additionally, WeeZee plans to offer medical and academic internships for high school, college and medical school students.
The remaining 9,000 square feet being leased will become the corporate headquarters of ACCESS Nursing Services, a temporary personnel company founded in 1985 by Ms. Weadock, a registered nurse. ACCESS serves hospitals, nursing homes and home care organizations. The corporate office has some 20 employees who will oversee all company operations including the ACCESS offices in Manhattan, Jersey City, Newark and Baltimore, as well as its private nursing concession offices at several prestigious hospitals in Manhattan.

Chappaqua Crossing includes 700,000 square feet of prime office space. The building, which formerly served as world headquarters for Readers Digest, is owned by Summit Greenfield Partners. The other tenants are Northern Westchester Hospital (35,000 square feet); Mt. Kisco Medical Group (40,000 square feet); Fiber Media (35,000 square feet) and GSA (6,000 square feet).
