Fuirst founded Basics Fuirst, a cooking school offering in-home classes for families and students. Before that, Fuirst, a graduate of Clark University, was an entertainment marketing professional with Music Choice and Time Warner Cable.
Fuirst, Open Door officials said, is an advocate for parents of children with learning and emotional disorders. She has led volunteer initiatives with the Chappaqua Central School District and Eagle Hill School in Greenwich, Conn.
Open Door has four community health center in Westchester County, including in Ossining, Port Chester, Mount Kisco and Sleepy Hollow. It also operates five school-based health centers in Port Chester. Last year, Open Door treated 43,505 patients.
