In honor of National Volunteer Week, check out today’s story on Edna Coggins.
Coggins’ vision has been deteriorating over the last two years due to glaucoma but she faithfully heads to Phelps each week to help out in the marketing department preparing patient letters or in whatever other way she can lend a hand. She said volunteering keeps the brain active.
Coggins is Phelps’ oldest volunteer. The community hospital has more than 300 volunteers.
