The Town of New Castle has posted much of the Final Environmental Impact Statement for the Chappaqua Crossing development at the former Reader’s Digest property. The rest should be posted by the end of the day Tuesday at www.mynewcastle.org.
Meanwhile, paper copies are available at the town clerk’s office and at the Chappaqua Library.
The development, which includes 199 condos and townhouses geared toward seniors, including 20 affordable units, is one of the largest projects in recent New Castle history and has generated substantial controversy over the six years it has been under review.
With the completion of the FEIS, the clock is ticking on wrapping up the environmental review with the issuance of a findings statement, which will lay out the Town Board’s conclusions on the impacts of the project.
