The New Castle Town Board is not expected to adopt the Final Environmental Impact Statement for the Chappaqua Crossing development at the former Reader’s Digest property tonight, officials said. March 8 was designated to approve the FEIS in a timeline for steps in the review process for the project laid out by Supervisor Barbara Gerrard in her Feb. 22 Supervisor’s Report.
The Town Board is, however, having an executive session to receive “advice of counsel” tonight at 7 p.m. Click here for an article on the timeline with background on the project. Here is the latest story, on two lawsuits filed against the town by the developers. The Town Board agenda is available on its web site.
Town Attorney Clinton Smith said the FEIS is still “a work in progress,” but that the Town Board still wants to hold final votes on the project by the end of March.
