Voters in the Katonah-Lewisboro School District on Tuesday easily passed the district’s $109.3 million revised budget.
The vote was 2,624 to 2,007.
“We’re happy that the public came out in big numbers and supported the budget,” School Board Member Peter Breslin said shortly after the results were announced at the Increase Miller Elementary School gym.
Tuesday’s budget plan calls for about $1.7 million in spending cuts from the original budget that voters rejected on May 18. Under the updated budget, the district will run 10 fewer buses next year and lay off six bus drivers. The Tuesday budget plan also cuts an assistant principal position at John Jay Middle School.
