Mary Beth Murphy is poised to announce Thursday that she is running for the State Senate in the 40th District.
This makes her the third candidate, so far, trying for the seat that Vincent Leibell has held for eight terms. He has said he isn’t seeking a ninth term, but wants to become the Putnam County Executive.
Read the story about this election by my colleague Staff Writer Michael Risinit. And check back tomorrow to learn what Murphy says during her announcement.
Murphy, a Republican, has been the Somers supervisor for 12 years.
