Dinner to benefit CURE
Got this today from a former colleague who now works for Dan Klores Communications:
Susan Axelrod, chairwoman and co-founder of CURE (Citizens United for Research in Epilepsy), is the featured guest at a fundraiser to benefit CURE, being held at Bedford Historic Hall April 9 at 6:30 p.m.
Axelrod is the wife of President Obama’s chief political strategist, David Axelrod, whose eldest daughter suffers from epilepsy. They have worked tirelessly over the years to find ways to control her seizures and recently accomplished that after multiple surgeries and the proper mix of medications. All this led Axelrod to become an advocate for the millions of others who suffer from epilepsy. CURE began with her and several other mothers in Chicago and is now a national organization. Check out their Web site at www.cureepilepsy.org.
The $500-per-person Bedford event is being run by Donna Marino, vice president of the Bedford Board Board of Education and the wife of Dan Klores Communications’ managing partner John Marino. The Marinos and Axelrods have been friends for years. More than 100 people have bought tickets to attend so far. To RSVP or for information, contact Donna Marino at 914-234-0519 or dmarino62@optonline.net
