Hanukkah, the eight day festival of lights which begins the evening of Dec. 11, is all about family fun, candles and potato pancakes.
Chabad Lubavitch of Briarcliff and Ossining is hosting a “Mad Science Chanukah Adventure” on Sunday, Dec., 13, the second day of the holiday.
The Chabad event features a “Light and Energy” show with interaction presentations. There will be demonstrations from fiery combustion to foggy dry ice storms. Children will make their own UV detection key chain to take home as part of a segment on safety. Traditional potato latkes and donuts will be served to all and there will be a lighting of a Menorah.
It is from 12:00 to 1:30pm at Briarcliff High School, 444 Pleasantville Road. The program is geared for adults and children. For more information, or to RSVP, call 914.923.2522 or e-mail to Info@ChabadBriarcliff.com
Additionally, Chabad will be lighting a village Menorah at 5:30 p.m., Dec. 15 at the Pocket Park near Chilmark Flowers.
