Team Lewisboro 2009 – FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Supervisor-elect Charles Duffy has chosen Jeremiah Barry and Al Perruzza to co-chair his transition team. According to Mr. Duffy he asked them to lead the transition because of their “strong financial backgrounds and complementary skills in the private sector.”
Mr. Barry was treasurer of Team Lewisboro 2009, Mr. Duffy’s campaign committee. A lifelong Democrat who had not previously been involved in local politics, Mr. Barry is a certified public accountant and is Senior Sales & Property Tax Manager with General Electric Capital Corporation.
Mr. Perruzza has served four years as Councilman after being elected on the Republican ticket in 2005, but decided not to run for reelection. He is senior vice president and director of global operations and business redesign for Reader’s Digest.
Mr. Duffy said that he was very pleased that both accepted. “Jerry has an excellent financial background, is levelheaded, and brings the insight of a political outsider to the transition,” he stated. “In addition to his impressive management skills, Mr. Perruzza has the necessary inside knowledge from his past four years on the board,” he added.
Mr. Duffy went on to say, “I look forward to their advice and assistance and will work with them to develop a process that ensures our team is prepared on January 1. At the same time, I have already begun getting myself up to speed by speaking to past and present elected officials, department heads and volunteers. I appreciate that everyone I’ve spoken to has been enthusiastic and forthcoming,” he concluded.
