Pleasanvtille seventh-graders spent the day learning about what it’s like to live with a disability.
I spent part of the day at Pleasantville Middle School where seventh-graders were getting a taste of what it’s like to live as a disabled person. The day is called “Walking in My Shoes”. Among the disabilities that the kids experienced was vision loss, hearing loss, ADHD, and being confined to a wheelchair. Principal Vivian Ossowski says the event is held annually to create an awareness of what it’s like to be a person with a disability.
